What a superb week of racket sports competition:
Well done to all the club tennis players who entered the British Seniors Indoor Tennis Champs, great to see a few WLTSC names on the results page http://www.itftennis.com/seniors/tournaments/tournament/info.aspx?tournamentid=1100041502 . Whatever level you're at, competition drives you to improve so why not challenge yourself to compete and rise to the challenge.
Congratulations to Darren Lewis on winning the Over 35 Edinburgh Squash Champs and to Robin Chipperfield on winning the Club Vets Squash Champs last Thursday and for competing in the West of England Masters last Friday.
At the younger end of the age groups; congratulations to our National Premier League Tennis team, they won 4-0 last Saturday and are now top of the regional league and looking strong for automatic qualification into the national knockout phase. A great debut by Fin Cook ably supported by Taylor Penny, James Henderson and Tom Welsh. Thank you for all the support, it really does make a difference and is what sets us apart from other clubs.
There are only a few hours left to enter the Expocet Racketball Championships, log in to your MyCourts account and enter before midnight today; it’s a graded tournament so is suitable for all levels, why not give it a go?
Thank you to nearly 100 of you that have completed our annual club survey, here’s the link if you haven’t had chance yet https://surveyhero.com/c/f9775baThere was a glitch on one of the questions but that was fixed after the first couple of returns.
Lastly, following the superlative performance from Mr Federer at today’s Australian Open, it goes to show how rewarding and emotional sport can be, if you know any friends or colleagues who might benefit from sport in their lives please get them to join in the next 3 days to benefit from our new year offer.
Keep healthy, play sport and make friends,
