Sports Update

Dear [[firstname]],

Last Saturday was a wonderful celebration of Tennis after a very successful year of events, competitions, and initiatives. Awards were presented and team speeches made, followed by a presentation to Nick Morris and some kind words from our EyeCan representative, Meena about the success of our Visually Impaired Tennis sessions.

Many congratulations to Manny Samra, Volunteer of the Year, Lisa Callaghan-Butler and Marta Brudnicka, Beginners of the Year, Chris Martin, Participant of the Year and Tennis Club Person of the Year was awarded to John Williams.

The Tennis Challenge Cup is now launched and on MyCourts in the tournaments area; this is a non seeded unisex knockout doubles tournament over 12 weeks with finals on Friday 20th January from 7pm. Men's A, B & C and Ladies A team players can't partner each other. Pick your own partner or just let us know and we'll try and pair you up with someone, if unsure then please get in touch.

You will generally have 1 to 2 weeks to play your match and there will be a plate competition for first round losers. Each round will be randomly drawn and communicated to all players.

Holiday Camps are starting to fill and can be booked at https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/everypoint/Coaching/Camps

Lookout for our new Spinning session for Beginners and those looking to try this class which will commence in November for a month with a handful of spaces for non-members to try too.

At this seasonal time of change, try and keep a regular routine of sport and activity at the club to help keep you physically and mentally well. Physical activity has a very positive impact on our mood and has a beneficial impact on alleviating stress; exercise has been described as a “wonder drug” in preventing and managing mental health. So if you need a boost the rest of this week why not join our Beginners Tennis Class, Spinning Class, Squash Mix In or Cardio Tennis?

Kind regards,

Marc Hughes
