Club News - Another Busy Weekend

Dear [[firstname]],

I thought you might want to know about some of the activities that happened this weekend.

Not only did we deliver our usual programme of tennis, squash, racketball and fitness sessions we also held the finals of our Dave Smart Racketball Handicap Finals. With a total of 64 entries it was a great opportunity to see male and female players of all abilities and ages having fun competing. Young Tom Watson won the plate final and James Henderson is the new name on the honours board in the main final. A massive thank you to our committee volunteers and especially Aleks Stojanovic and James Treble for showcasing squash and entertaining us between finals.

On Saturday evening we celebrated the outstanding successes of our 13 Staffs league tennis teams; an inspirational evening with Amun Samra winning the “Speech of the night” award and Alex Loumidis stealing the karaoke show with a unique rendition of YMCA. A huge thank you to Jonathon Whitehead and Nigel Eastwood for comparing and coordinating the evening.

The Tennis FA Cup draw was completed with over 40 pairs entering; the draw will be published shortly.

On Sunday the squash courts were full all day long with our first Junior Bronze tournament. Fun whilst competing in a supportive environment was the theme expertly delivered by Neil Patel, Allan Walton and Chris Dawson, another massive thank you to them too.

Underpinning all of these events were our bar and catering team who worked tirelessly to meet everyone’s needs; a special thank you to Nikki Parkes for designing and leading the awards night party #TeamWLTSC
