Gym & Fitness Update

I guess we are coming towards the end of a busy summer at the club. The classes are well attended with the spin classes as busy as ever, most are booked up a week in advance. There are however certain spin classes that have more availability, Wednesday morning at 0700, Thursday morning at 1000 and Sunday morning at 1000. If you want to have a go at spin and are struggling to get on at a time that suits, come and find me and we will perhaps arrange a ‘starters’ session in the autumn.

With many members being on holiday at the moment it is an ideal time to have a go at one of the conditioning classes in the studio, as ever all abilities are welcome from beginners to athletes. Please have a word with a PT if you have any queries and they will point you in the right direction. Saturday morning is an ideal class for a beginner to have a go at a class run by an experienced instructor in Adam, he will welcome you and suggest other classes which may suit your goals.

Thursday nights ‘big burn’ with myself has had a bit of a facelift in that we are running it in blocks of four and then developing the exercises so as to focus on progressive overload. The next block of 4 starts on the 24th of August, anyone is welcome at any session, but you will be encouraged to push yourself! Brendon’s Tuesday night class also works to a 4-week cycle and he will be very welcoming to any new starters.

The latest addition to the System Energize team, Rhys Williams has successfully passed his level 3 and is now taking PT bookings. It’s an ideal time to get cracking with a personalised program as he is selling blocks of 10 sessions for £100 for a limited time so please contact him directly if you are interested (07576 399899).

We will be arranging another charity walk for Sunday the 22nd of October from All Stretton in Shropshire, starting and finishing at a pub followed by Sunday lunch. The signup sheet will go up in the gym at the end of September.

The Preseli adventure weekend is booked for the 10th May, we have limited spaces available for this so I need names early if you are interested. It is a 3-day activity weekend, involving coasteering, beginners surfing, hiking and a lot of socialising! Please come and see me if you want know more details.

I can also confirm that we will be running a ‘kick start’ 7-day challenge starting on Saturday the 13th of January. It will be bigger and better than ever with all the instructors involved. We are making a slight change in the mentality of the week by taking the emphasis away from the weighing scales and focussing more on starting the year off right, promoting cleaner living and sustainable habits.
