In 2024 we have decided to move the date to SATURDAY 12th OCTOBER

WLTSC Tennis Teams

The season ended with both of our Mens and Ladies A teams topping their respective Staffordshire Premier Divisions. A fantastic performance of which we should be very proud.

Moreover our Mens B team, ably assisted by a cameo performance from Henry Searle were runners up behind the A team.

And congratulations go to the Ladies C team (led by Manny Samra) and the Mens F team (led by Mike James), both of which won promotion.

Thanks to all 12 captains and 93 players who represented WLTSC throughout the season.

The Challenge Cup Competition

Closing date for entries is tomorrow, Friday 20th October. Get your last minute entries in now.

Tennis Box Leagues

You may have noticed a change on MyCourts when it comes to recording your league results. The official statement from MyCourts reads as follows :-

Box Leagues -- New feature for league players to input their match results not only as League Points, but also the Result in Sets or Games (depending if it's tennis, squash, padel or badminton) as well as Game Scores. When available, these Result in Games/Sets and Game Scores can be seen by clicking the "score details" link at the top of the League Box.

What does that mean?. As per the example below, record your box league score (circled in blue) as you have done in the past. These points determine your position in the league at the end of the session.

It then gives you the further option, should you wish, of recording the number of sets and the scores in those sets.

Booking Rules

We have taken the opportunity of updating the Tennis Booking Rules that appear on MyCourts. We've removed references to Covid and aligned the rules with the Tennis Byelaws contained in our Website.

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of members playing on the indoor courts without paying a booking fee. This is contrary to Club rules, so we have inserted the following statement.

A booking fee MUST be paid prior to playing on the Indoor Courts. CCTV is in operation on the Indoor Courts. Failure to book before play will result in you being alerted by email and your MyCourts account being debited, a continued failure to do so will trigger a disciplinary process which may result in suspension.

For the benefit of all members please follow the rules.

And Finally

There's still a lot going on during the Winter months.

The Challenge Cup, our Mens team in the National Premier League (worth watching), our Box Leagues which are proving to be really popular, Junior Holiday Camps at half-term, a Junior Tennis Party on 8th December, the return of Sunday Cardio Tennis, Team training sessions and much, much more. Look out for further information from Max and Amber.
