Gym & Fitness Update

Dear [[firstname]],

A great start to the year in terms of fitness participation this year. We have averaged 350 visits to classes per week, gym usage is higher than it has ever been, and the members are taking up lots of personal training sessions with impressive results.

The kick start went well and we have pencilled this in for the same week next year.

Our excellent yoga teacher is starting an extra class thsi Thursday at 11am bookable on MyCourts for only £5.

We also have an exceptionally nice person called named ‘Pav Mahey’, running a mindfulness class, which should be of interest to many people. If you are interested please contact her for further details or see poster.

The spin classes continue to be a massive success but we have had to find a way of dealing with the problem of late cancellations and no shows, which it has to be said is on the rise. Basically, members booking a week in advance and then not showing up or cancelling late, leads to classes with spaces and other members reporting to me how frustrated they are. In January there was an average of 20 late cancellations or no shows a week with an average of 31 people across the week on the waiting list. The aim is to keep the classes full so as many different people as possible can book on. The Gym Committee have decided that from the 8th April there will be an automated charge of £5 for anyone not showing up or cancelling late (within 48hours) unless the class is full, it should be noted that bookings are non-transferable. This isn’t a decision we have taken lightly but the overall aim is for as many different members to take part in as many classes as possible, as often as they can and to have full classes.

We have confirmed a date with the Yew Tree in All Stretton for another walk (28th April). We normally get 50 or 60 taking part and this will be close to the limit of the people we can look after and the pub can cater for, there is a sign up sheet in the gym. Come and speak to the Energize team if you need more details but basically if you can walk 6 miles you are welcome as are your dogs and kids!

Another date for the diary is the activity weekend in Pembrokeshire in May. This is a fantastic relaxed weekend in a beautiful part of the world where we take in some walks, do a System Energize workout, coasteering, paddle boarding, surfing, coasteering and yoga. We also sample some Welsh hospitality in the local pubs and it is always an excellent weekend.

Perhaps the most exciting announcement we have is the first ever System Energize organised ski/snowboard trip in March 2025. Speak to Foggy in the gym if you think you maybe interested. The trip will be suitable for any ability of skier/snowboarder. We need to get the £100 deposit paid to secure the price of £1500 all in. The balance is payable at the start of January.

Get involved!

Regards
