Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Hello [[firstname]]

As the UK and the world continue to battle with Covid 19 virus I thought it prudent to continue to update you.

We have reviewed the activities held within the club namely Tennis, Squash and Racketball, Gym classes, and events (third party hiring of our facilities (Birthdays/weddings etc). We shall review these daily and update you accordingly.

The outcome of this is as follows:

· Increased cleaning of multi touch areas at club (guidelines attached)

· Increasing the cleaning schedule at the club, as there are fewer classes and members attending

1. Specifically, in gym

2. Multi touch areas

3. Bar & Catering

· Installing hand wash facilities at squash courts shortly

· Tennis continues at present

· Squash & Racketball continues at present

· Gym timetable, please see revised timetable (attached). We have tried to continue with energise activities based on the outdoors locations (weather permitting)

1. Increased cleaning introduced as there are fewer classes, taking the opportunity to maximise cleaning

· Events, (timetable next few weeks attached) will be discussed at tonight’s General committee meeting and shall be advised later

1. Private parties and club events

2. Wimbledon ballot we were going to start planning next week there is an alternative to let the LTA run an automatic ballot for us.

3. Club development plan workshops and EGM

I would also ask that if you feel unwell, please consider self-isolation prior to visiting the club. When you do visit the club:

· Wash hands thoroughly before and after

· We are running low (and there are supply issues with cleaning and hand sanitising gels) therefore please feel free to bring in your own

· Use alcohol-based sanitisers following each session

· Avoid touching your face during play

· Cleaning the tennis balls before/after play is not practical; however, balls exposed to sunlight for 30 mins will destroy the virus

· Disinfect racket handles after play

· Wipe machines before you use it with cleaning fluid and blue tissue in case the previous person hasn’t

· Think of innovative ways of acknowledging victory/defeat at the end of a match that doesn’t involve shaking hands, kissing or hugging. Perhaps a racket bump!

This list is not exhaustive however will support our health.

Thanks

Neil Patel
