touchtennis Tuesday

Dear [[firstname]],

Following a successful re-starting of playing tennis safely, we have now marked out touchtennis courts on the grass.

If you haven’t heard of this sport before, it is a modified version of tennis played on a compact court with high density foam balls. It is suitable for all players from non-racket sports players to tennis, squash and racketball players.

As with the tennis guidelines, this can only be played as singles and you must book your court via the squash courts booking on MyCourts.

We have sanitised rackets to borrow or, for Racketball players, you can use your racketball rackets. If you would like to buy a racket, we have these available too for £15. The balls are available to buy for £3 or we do have some to borrow as these are able to be washed but we would encourage you to buy a ball for yourself. During a game, you may find that it is easier to share the ball, if this is the case, use the hand sanitizer provided on the entrance to the court before and after you play.

touchtennis Tuesday

If you haven’t played before and would like to give it a go, book your court (including your opponents’ name) on Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm and Clayton will be available to give you ‘starter tips’ from a safe distance. Clayton is currently world number 6 and hosted a fantastic touchtennis event here last August so is well placed to get you enjoying yourself outdoors.

So, choose your opponent and book your court and give this sport a try. We are confident you will find it fun and enjoyable while burning some calories.

The grass can be a little moist first thing in the morning and last thing at night so please check the surface before you play.

Kind regards,

Marc Hughes
