Court Booking Update

Dear [[firstname]],

It’s been great to see so many of you playing tennis on our artificial grass courts and touchtennis on the real grass courts. We are monitoring court usage and we can see that it’s slowly increasing from originally 70% to 80%.

Therefore, to give every member an equal opportunity to play we must insist that you all comply with the club court booking rules. Where someone’s name is showing more than two times in the next seven days, we will now cancel the extra bookings.

Courts can continue to be booked on the day but strictly after midnight; some members have been booking the evening before, this practice must cease as your court will also be cancelled.

The two times booking in the next seven days applies only to the artificial grass court tennis bookings. At this time there is no limit to the number of touchtennis bookings you can make.

It's been great to see Squash and Racketball players playing touchtennis but some members have been forgetting to book the touchtennis court, there is a short tutorial on our Facebook Group and on our You Tube channel; here’s the link if you need reminding of how to book and add an opponent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKOhI8qJhOQ

On our You Tube channel you can also see a superb video of our courts and tocuhtennis being played https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9SeF06PAMI

The LTA are reviewing the government guidelines and we are expecting an update very soon. We have a Tennis Committee meeting on Monday where any changes will be reviewed and communicated to you as soon as possible. We will implement changes with your safety in mind.

On the whole members and their visitors have been extremely considerate and have complied with the club guidelines to play tennis and touchtennis safely.

Kind regards
Steve Chilvers
Chair of the Tennis Committee
