A New Era at WLTSC

Dear [[firstname]],

On Saturday 15th at our Padel Open Day we announced that we were opening up our Padel courts for booking by Pay & Play visitors. A reminder, members can book 2 weeks in advance, Pay & Play visitors just one week.

We have begun to see some new faces on the courts.

Members have all day access to the Padel court gate using their newly registered card/fob whereas Pay & Play visitors have timed access either side of their booking time using their MyCourts PIN number.

As we roll out new access controls across entrance doors around the club members will continue to have full access using your card or fob. However, you must get them registered in reception first for them to work.

Pay & Play Visitors will have limited access to areas, again with timed constraints.

The arrival of new faces to the Club is not new to us. Over the past 10 years we have slowly, and in a controlled manner, been welcoming visitors. Opposing teams on our tennis and squash courts, SEND groups to our indoor tennis courts, players in national squash and racketball competitions and then more recently growing numbers of newcomers to our beginner tennis and squash/racketball group sessions. Beginner tennis in particular has resulted in a number of new members joining our Club.

Since we opened the Padel courts to members and their guests we have welcomed 488 guest bookings and have signed up 44 Pay and Play visitor registrations.

This year has also seen quite a turnover of members and membership has increased. It is clear that society has become more mobile and that trend will continue, so we need to tailor our offering to members and visitors alike to maintain and increase levels of participation in all our sports, particularly at times that have been traditionally quiet.

To further support both our members and visitors, we are exploring new ways to enhance the Club experience. This includes potential improvements to our facilities, as well as expanding the range of social and sporting events available throughout the year. We believe that by offering a diverse and inclusive programme, we can encourage even greater engagement and continue to foster a vibrant community spirit within the Club.

We kindly ask all our members to demonstrate patience and understanding as new visitors and guests familiarise themselves with the Club's customs and routines. A friendly greeting or a helping hand can go a long way in making someone feel at home and contributes to the welcoming atmosphere that we are proud of. By showing consideration and support, we can ensure that everyone enjoys their time at the Club, whether they are seasoned members or newcomers finding their feet.

We would also like to remind everyone that feedback from both members and visitors is always welcome. Your suggestions and comments are invaluable in helping us identify areas for improvement and making the Club a better place for all. Please feel free to reach out to Nikki Prosser our Club Manager to share your thoughts, as your input plays a crucial role in shaping the future direction of the Club.

Thank you

Steve Chilvers

Club Chairman
