Rolland Garros Event Summary

Dear [[firstname]],
Another glorious Sunday afternoon at the club was made extra special with 32 keen tennis players participating in the Rolland Garros Bleu event on the outdoor courts. Team Nadal captained by Jason Mansell were keen to get revenge over Manny Samra’s Team Barty, after the narrow loss at the previous Wimbledon Whites event.
As day 1 of the French Open got off to a cold and wet start not to mention a loss for Mr Murray; our teams sprung into action in round 1 with a FAST4 doubles 3 setter resulting in 11-9 to Team Barty, the random middle round ended 4-4 so into the final round.
Many matches went to a Champs tie break 3rd set but with one match remaining Manny was looking smug with a 2-point victory however Dave Thorpe and Chris Martin were determined to go one step better than Dave’s beloved WBA football team. A long match resulted in a 2-0 win for the squash players and the Team score was duly tied at 24 points all.
A special thank you to Gilly, Henry and Tanita for providing refreshments and helping everyone with the new procedures up in the bar and restaurant.
