Wow!

What a great Carver Cup tournament we have had with an epic final night. Over the last few weeks, members, old & new, competed with various handicaps as their starting point, with finals night drawing a vocal crowd (video of match on Facebook!). The Carver Cup was presented to :

  • Tom Watson after a 3-2 win against 1st team player Allan Walton who started at -36 in each game!

Henry Carver spoke very kindly about the game to both players and the whole tournament as he handed out their prize including prizes for:

  • 3rd place - Ben Lloyd
  • 4th place - Leon Smith
  • Plate runner up - John Williams
  • Plate winner Reuben Lloyd

In other squash & racketball news!

The squash 1st team are in action on tonight. We are playing Edgbaston Priory with world ranked 158 player in their team. Darren Lewis is playing at 3 for us to give perspective of the level of squash you can expect to watch from 7.30pm!

The JDA Racketball tournament is open to enter via mycourts in the tournament section - a graded tournament so all standards are welcome.

Squash camps are running 20th, 21st & 22nd December - see attached for details and to book. Take the opportunity to tire them about and give you some shopping/wrapping time!

Committee news
You may have heard that Mike Harris is off sick. He has symptoms of long Covid after suffering for the 3rd time a couple of months ago. While he recovers, the committee are working hard to ensure there is little disruption to the timetable until the Christmas break.

Kind regards
Helen & the Squash & Racketball committee
