Vets and Vintage Tennis Club Champs Summary
Dear [[firstname]],
The Veterans and Vintage Tennis Club Champs have run throughout August and September with the finals culminating on the 19th September. As always, there was a great turnout with over 130 matches played and 126 entries resulting in 19 finals! A special thank you to all players and supporters for creating a superb atmosphere. A very special thank you to the Tennis Committee, Chairman, Bar and Restaurant team, Umpires and Pete Roberts for their help in promoting and delivering another excellent and safe event at the club; a big thank you also to Jason Mansell for not only umpiring but also for taking photos of the finalist which can be found on our Facebook Group. The results are attached and on MyCourts.
Congratulations to all the finalists, it was superb to see so many players reaching the latter stages for the first time and the level of play and sportsmanship witnessed throughout the tournament epitomises the great spirit at our club. There are many benefits of playing sport in these difficult times and it is heartening to see so many seniors playing sport and keeping healthy.
For those of you inspired to keep competing it would be good to see you entering the mixed 100 plus (Total age of pairing at the end of 2020) doubles competition, with the finals being played on the 14th November on the indoor courts. Please enter on MyCourts in the Tournaments area as usual.
