Hi [[firstname]]
As you can see from the picture below Padel court construction has been going well. We've still got some of the 960 bolt holes to drill, but then it's all about fitting the 12mm toughened glass panels, each of which weighs 180 Kgs., and laying the artificial grass.
We had expected the dividing fence and gates to be delivered on Monday 11th, but that has been put back a while so I've released the grass court to be bookable again.
We are aiming for completion of the courts at the weekend. That's important because on Tuesday 19th at 2pm we have got Peninsular Acoustics on site to conduct a noise survey. I have already got 8 Padel playing volunteers and need 4 more to fill all three courts for a hour. If you would like to volunteer just reply to this email.
Whilst the survey is underway there can be no other tennis being played so all courts have been blocked off on MyCourts.
Hopefully, we get a good result and the ok from Wolverhampton Planning. Until then the Padel courts will remain closed.
You're probably aware that Nikki is taking a few days holiday so I'll take this opportunity to remind you of a few events and projects coming up.
QUIZ NIGHT 11th August at 8pm
Quiz Night with Clive is back again. Plenty of Prizes to be won. Get a team together of 2 or more or just come along and we'll find a team for you.
WINE TASTING 21st August from 6pm
Our Social Committee in conjunction with Martin & Jane Wilcox of Pattingham Vineyard are hosting a Wine Tasting Evening at WLTSC on 21st August.
Why not come along to taste such gems as Nurton Brook or Rudge Heath. Tickets are £25 each online or from Reception.
VETS & VINTAGE Tennis
Its been a Super Summer of Tennis so far and it's not over yet. Why not get your entries in on MyCourts for an array of VETS & VINTAGE tennis Competitions. Starting at the end of August and culminating on a Finals Day on Saturday 11th October.
You may also have noticed that the Indoor Courts are being taken out of action for 2 weeks from 18th August.
Finally, after 25 years years of use, above and beyond expectation, the courts are being resurfaced which will include a 2mm cushioning layer. All the better for hips, knees and ankles!
You are probably aware that we've been doing a lot of painting recently just to lift the appearance of the Club and we're working down the corridor towards the Squash Courts. The Squash are is being refurbished in preparation for the courts to be then sanded on 22nd and 23rd September in readiness for the Winter Season.
And if you have some spare time on Wednesday 25th August why not volunteer to help paint the inside of the Pavilion (soon to be renamed The Padel Pod)
There's plenty going on at WLTSC
