I really do appreciate your support. I hope in 2024 we can get lots of new members to come down to the courts and Give Squash A Go!

Staffordshire County Championship success for WLTSC JUNIORS

A few weeks ago a large number of our juniors took part in the Staffordshire county closed tournaments at Burton Manor Squash Club. There were 6 events, with WLTSC Juniors winning 5 of the titles and runner-up in one.

In the mixed under 9s, all 4 of our entered players did fantastically. 3 semi-finalists and our 4th player was just 1 point from making the semi-final. The final was between 2 of our juniors with Arun Dhillon beating Anand Sidhu in a great final.

In the Boys under 11s we had 2 juniors taking part. Both making semi-finals. Brendon Wilbrey narrowly lost in the semi-final, and Amrit Sidhu winning in a fantastic final.

Girls under 11s was next and Abigail Dehar playing brilliantly but lost to a very strong opponent in the final.

In the Boys Under 13s all 4 of our juniors made the semi-finals with Theo Hall winning his 2nd County title beating Arjun Sidhu in a tightly contested final.

In the Boys under 15s, we had 5 juniors in this event and some strong match performances from all the entries, but Jack Andrews came through to win.

Jack Andrews made it a double by winning the U17 Boys, Arjun Toore played very well coming 3rd in the event against some tough opposition.

This is a momentous event for us as a club, bringing such a large group of juniors from our WOW Squash Academy is testament to how far we have come as a club. We are so proud of all our juniors, no matter if they won or lost, they all had fun and ended the day with a smile on their face which is what Squash is all about!
