Squash and Racketball Updates

With September just around the corner, the squash season will be getting underway and with it a few reminders for you. Squash Leagues - The next cycle of leagues starts on 1st September. We're currently encouraging people to join the leagues. They're an ideal way of playing different people and getting in an extra game a week. From September the league will operate on a monthly basis and will have 5 people per league (4 matches to play each month). We already have a number of people wanting to join, the sheet for people interested in being in the leagues is outside court 4. Please sign up before 1st September. Existing league players will automatically be included in the next league cycle. Women and Girls taster sessions - As part of the England Squash "Squash Girls Can" campaign we are running two free taster sessions exclusively for women and girls on Thursday 15th September 5.30pm-7.30pm and Sunday 25th September 11.30am-1.30pm. These are free drop in sessions to give you a taste of squash or racketball. All equipment is provided, you just need to turn up. Please encourage your wife, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins, friends and work colleagues to come along. There will be a follow up course too. If you want any further information get in touch (details at the bottom of this message). Squash Teams - If you'd like to play team squash during the 2016/17 season we run four teams in different leagues. There is a poster outside court 4 where you can register your interest. If all players (including those who regularly play team squash) could sign up on the sheet we can then work out who's in what team squad. If you'd be interested in a pre-season weekly training session, please also indicate on the sheet. Racketball Leagues - The leagues will be running on a monthly cycle from 1st September, have 5 players per league and a promotional campaign will be running to encourage people to play in the racketball leagues prior to the November league. Junior Squash Club - Just a reminder, the Junior Squash Club will be running this and every Sunday at 10.15-11.30am. We are always pleased to see new juniors attend. Equipment and protective eyewear is provided. Members intro to Squash or racketball - if you've fancied trying squash or racketball, drop me a message and I'll take you on court for a free 30 minute intro/taster for either squash or racketball. It's a great way to get to grips with the rules and try for the first time or to reintroduce yourself to the sport. If you would like to discuss any of these reminders, please don't hesitate to contact me on 07728 554555 or at Warm regards Matt McFahn Head of Squash & Racketball
