Just great to see so many of you making use of our Free Energize classes which are running as always throughout the holiday period. Rusty Rackets is also booming with three weekly sessions now on. The Club Improvement Plan is progressing well with the new Functional Training gym proving popular. This coming week will see the start of the 6th Squash Court project. Please be aware that the Physio has temporarily relocated to the Junior Room and contractors will be working in the squash area from Tuesday. Wednesday is likely to be a very dusty and noisy day between 7:30am and 3:30pm so please keep clear of the squash courts if at all possible. Contractors will also be relaying a tarmac tennis court to the rear of court 1, near the Newbridge School this week so please ensure your footwear is free from bits of tarmac that may have dropped onto the road and path. Squash & Racketball The FA Cup Racketball comp is at quarter final stage, the draw can be found on MyCourts. Tennis You can enter the Tennis Club Champs using a form in the shop or you can enter the Singles online via MyCourts at http://wltsc.mycourts.co.uk/tournaments.asp. We are expecting a record entry this year so enter early, it’s suitable for all abilities and finals day is on Saturday 12th July with live music after the presentations in the evening. Fitness The air conditioning units in the gym are being repaired this Wednesday. If you let someone into the gym please politely ensure they are a member by asking them to display their card or to sign in, regular checks are being conducted, especially during the holiday period. Energize are leading the way again at this year’s Shifnal Half Marathon, click here for the entry form http://www.idsall.shropshire.sch.uk/page/?title=Shifnal+Half+Marathon&pid=62 and join the team on Sunday 6th July before returning to the club in the afternoon to see Andy Murray retain his Wimbledon title. Social The restaurant is closed this Bank Holiday Monday but the bar is open in the evening as usual. Lastly, Thank you to all involved in raising funds at last week’s Charity events in memory of Pete Brown, the club is celebrating his life this Thursday from 12:15pm, the wakeis likely to be very well attended throughout the afternoon and evening. If you have any pictures of Pete his family would be very appreciative if you could bring them along.
