, Welcome back if youíve had a summer break from the club. Now that the County Tennis Champs have been successfully completed we can now move on to the final phase of the tennis court upgrade project. Starting on Monday courts 1 and 2 will be replaced with the same Tiger Turf surface as on courts 3 to 5. The work will take approximately one week. Once again there will be a couple of deliveries requiring large vehicles to use our exit road so please take care especially on Monday and Tuesday. Squash & Racketball Iím really pleased to be able to report that the Squash Committee have managed to get our teams into more external leagues this year so if you feel you would like to play competitive squash or racketball against other clubs then please get in touch. The Dave Smart Racketball competition is at the quarter final stages and donít forget that the finals are on 26th September. On behalf of the England Squash & Racketball Association we will be piloting a new beginnerís squash course starting in October with a lunchtime and evening session, 12 places area available so look out for the posters and sign-up sheet which will be out soon. With a month to go before the winter season starts we are taking the opportunity to deep clean the court walls during the day time. Please help us keep the walls clean by not using coloured tape on the frame of your racket. Tennis The Staffs County Champs were an outstanding success, thank you all for your consideration and patience while many of the courts were in use. The club had many finalists and the presentation evening was one of the best Iíve had the privilege to attend. We have been given the opportunity to host once again next year. A very special thanks to our Tournament team which included Paul Hodgetts, Nick Morris and Sam Griffiths ably assisted by many of the Tennis Committee. Keep the 10th October free as itís the End of Season Tennis Awards Night and itís also World Squash Day. Fitness Itís your last chance today to sign up to the Carver 10k on Sunday, you will need to go to West Park and sign up to join Paul Fothergill and a number of members and non-members in completing this excellent run. If you donít feel like running then please come and support on Sunday morning. Social We have a Halloween Party on 31st October with Kevin Wood, club member and his heavy rock band kicking off the evening, tickets are only £10 and include food and a disco to finish; fancy dress is your best option but not mandatory. Lastly, Itís exactly 4 years today since I became Operations Manager at this very special club. I have and still am enjoying it immensely because of the members and staff that I have the pleasure to meet and work with. The club seems a great place to be and I am continually inspired by the enthusiasm of members young and not so young. We have an amazing number of people playing sport on a weekly and sometimes daily basis and yes, that probably includes me. Sport is addictive; once you start itís hard to stop especially when youíre surrounded by top level coaches and trainers. So if you know someone that could do with making a great lifestyle choice then Iíd be very pleased to give them a tour of Wolverhamptonís Premier Racquets and Fitness Club.
