Squash & Racketball
Itís very short notice but we have been asked to host the National Schools Squash Champs next Wednesday from 10am to 3pm on 4 courts. This came from the excellent publicity and performance in delivering the Masters Squash event last weekend. The Squash and Racketball Committee have endorsed the event and impact on members should be minimal. The Mix In will still be on in the morning.
As you will see, courts are getting busy so please remember to book your courts even though they are free during the day to avoid disappointment.
Congratulations to Mike Rawlings who has been the most frequent court user over the last 12 months and will receive a bar and catering voucher to help him recover after all those matches.
The Vets Mixed Doubles Finals commence at 6:30pm on Friday with Steve Giddings and Tracy Hook taking on Jane Hampson and Robin Chipperfield on court 1. On court 2 Emma Bolland and Steve Chilvers take on (Fresh from the squash courts) Cathy Grinsell and Pete Roberts.
The Pattingham Bells run is on 14th October and is a great team event for novice and experienced runners, why not join Adam at his weekly running club every Sunday morning?
Donít forget that Brendon has a real celebration of success event on Saturday with around 60 people coming to see the presentation of the cheque to Compton Care following the inspiring Lord Bilston Big Challenge. There will be a disco in the bar/lounge after the event and all members are very welcome to attend.
On Friday from 8am until 2pm we are once again hosting the MacMillan Coffee Morning. All cakes very much appreciated. In the evening Gilly and her team would be pleased to serve you from the evening menu plus a special of Lasagne from 6pm.
