Hopefully you are all back in your routine following the festive period and are now looking forward to being as active and involved in the club as possible. We have had a superb start to the year with new members and most importantly, seeing so many of you using the facilities here, keep it going.
Squash & Racketball
The draw for our Age Group tournament will be out soon sponsored by Flint and Partners with finals on 25th Jan.
Chris and his team had 28 at last week’s Sunday Boast initiative, if we have similar numbers we could do with a little help, please get in touch if you’d like to join our team of volunteers helping to increase participation is squash and racketball.
The Royal Air Force are here during the daytime from 22nd to 25th January and we are hosting a Level 1 Squash Coaching course on 7th March.
The courts are getting increasingly busy so please make sure you book your courts (as is club policy) to avoid disappointment.
Tomorrow is the culmination of our FA Cup with finals on the indoor courts from 4:30pm, food and beverages are available at the courts and teyh bar and restaurant is open all day too.
Tom Welsh is joining our Everypoint Rackets Academy Coaching team, you will see him helping out at group sessions and being a hitter for some of our high performance players; Tom will be a great asset to the team, a high level player who has a real passion for the sport.
You can sign up at reception for our annual Coaches Cup, a top team event for all levels of player with inspiration from our Coach Captains; it’s on 26th Jan from 4:30pm with presentations in the bar around 5:50pm.
It’s Detox time, look out for our brave detoxers who are undertaking a week of extra exercise and a strict food plan. Please be aware that some of the fitness classes will be extra busy and the club will be extremely busy each morning at 6:45am and from 6pm most evenings. I wish the Detox Crew all the very best on what can be a life changing week.
Emma Berriman is delivering a new DRU Yoga class at 8.00pm every Thursday in the studio in aid of British Heart Foundation, it’s only £5 and is suitable for all levels.
Some parents have asked for the restaurant and café to be open from 4:30pm each Monday for family meals, if you would like to make use of this please give the team a call on 01902 755382. WE also have a special offer every Thursday and Friday evening where meals are all £5.
Sophie Dalton is organising a Quiz Night on Friday 15th Feb at 7:30pm. She is running the London Marathon again this year for Sense UK. Teams of 6 (Max) are required at £5 per person. To confirm that you’re coming, please message her on 07791384021 with how many will be in your team.
I’ve also attached our 2019 Events Calendar, so you can plan ahead, the 14th September is well worth adding to your diaries as we are once again organising an Autumn Ball in a marquee on the grass tennis courts, more info will be out soon.
